Florida State quarterback and Heisman trophy favorite Jameis Winston will not be charged with sexual assault. Winston was accused of rape by a female FSU student, claiming she was assaulted by the quarterback in December of 2012.

State attorney for the Second Judicial Circuit, Willie Meggs, held a press conference today at 1:00 to announce the findings of the investigation.

"We've carefully examined all the evidence in this case and have concluded that no charges will be brought against anyone in this case," Meggs explained. "We have a duty as prosecutors to determine if each case has a reasonable likelihood of conviction. After reviewing the facts in this case, we do not feel that we can reach those burdens."

The decision not to charge makes Winston the favorite to win the Heisman trophy, as well as pave the way for him to start in the ACC championship game Saturday vs. Duke, and the Seminoles bowl game.

One new piece of information regarding the case was that another man's DNA, in addition to Winston's, was present in the sexual assault kit. The alleged victim also had a blood alcohol level of .04, but no drugs were found in her system.

Winston has thrown for 3,490 yards with 38 touchdowns as a freshmen for the #1 ranked Seminoles.
