The Florida St. Seminoles are back atop the Associated Press Top 25 college football poll, which was released on Sunday, after a lengthy run as the second-ranked team.

Florida St., who defeated Miami (Fl.), 30-26, last Saturday, to stay unbeaten with a record of 9-0, received 43 of a possible 60 first-place votes.

The Seminoles, who are the defending national champions, and were the preseason number one team, held the top spot until the eighth week of the season, when they fell to number two, behind the Mississippi St Bulldogs.

The Alabama Crimson Tide, who defeated previously unbeaten Mississippi St., 25-20, last Saturday, to improve to 9-1, moved up two spots, to number two this week, after receiving 16 first-place votes.

The Oregon Ducks, who received the only other first-place vote, remain at number three with a 9-1 record, after being idle last week.

Mississippi St., who suffered that 25-20 loss to Alabama last Saturday, for their first loss in ten games on the year, fell from number one to number four.

The TCU Horned Frogs, who improved to 9-1, with a 35-30 win over Kansas last Saturday, remain at number five.
