Five Thursday night games involving Acadiana area schools kickoff the fourth week of the 2016 high school football schedule.

The five games are listed below:

Erath at North Vermilion:

This is the District 8-3A opener for both schools. Erath is 2-1, with wins over Delcambre and Vermilion Catholic, and a loss to Catholic (New Iberia), while North Vermilion enters the contest at 1-2, with a win over Hanson, along with losses to Episcopal (Baton Rouge) and Northwest. Iota at Welsh:

Iota, a 3A school, is 1-2, following their 36-27 win over Lake Arthur last wee, while Welsh, a 2A school, defeated Abbeville, 41-15, last week, to move to 3-0, while scoring a combined 139 points.

Loreauville at Delcambre:

This is the District 5-2A opener for both schools. Loreauville, who was idle last week, is 2-0, with wins over Franklin and Lafayette Christian, while Delcambre is 1-2, with a win over Hanson, and losses to Erath and Ascension Episcopal.

Sacred Heart (Ville Platte) at Jeanerette:

This game will mark the District 5-2A opener for both schools. Sacred Heart is undefeated, with wins over Iota, Port Barre, and Houma Christian, while Jeanerette is 1-2, with a win over Highland Baptist, along with losses to St. Martinville and Franklin.

Lafayette Christian Academy at Central Catholic (Morgan City)

This will be the District 7-1A opener for both teams. Lafayette Christian, following an exciting 21-20 win over Ville Platte last week, is 2-1, with their only loss being a close 22-20 setback to Loreauville, while Central Catholic is 1-2, with a win over St. John, and losses to Opelousas Catholic and Ascension Catholic.
