This week, it's all about the big boys.

The College Football Playoff Committee released its latest rankings Tuesday night and there really weren't any surprises.

And, that has set up quite a weekend in college football.

Of the top ten teams in the CFP rankings, eight of them are playing ranked teams and there are three games with top ten teams facing each other.

This is going to be fun.

FRIDAY-- (9) WASHINGTON (-6) (8-1, 5-1) at STANFORD (6-3, 5-2)  9:30 pm, FS1--I'm not thinking Washington, even by winning out, can get to the top four unless a lot of teams stumble.  But that's all moot if the Huskies don't win in Palo Alto, a tough place to play in the Pac-12.  Some good late night watching after the HSFB playoff games.

SATURDAY

(1) GEORGIA (9-0, 6-0) (-2') at AUBURN (7-2, 5-1)  2:30, CBS  Buckle your seat belts.  This is one of two chances Auburn has to muck up the CFP standings and help themselves in the process.  All that whining by Tiger fans about Gus Malzahn?  It gets a lot quieter if they pull this one off.  And, they just might.

(2) ALABAMA (9-0, 6-0) (-14) at MISSISSIPPI STATE (7-2, 3-2) 6:00 pm, ESPN--Alabama is coming off an emotional win over LSU.  MSU is coming off an unemotional win over Massachusetts. Not likely 'Bama has much of a letdown, but Starkvegas isn't a particularly easy place to play when the 'Dogs are playing well.  And, they're playing well.  The cowbells weren't very loud last Saturday.  That'll change this week.

(6) TCU (8-1, 5-1) at (5) OKLAHOMA (8-1. 5-1) (-6)  7:00  FOX--Well, now....the two teams barely on the outside looking in this week are going to decide it on the field.  TCU can't really improve its resume after this week.  Oklahoma still has to play West Virginia, but they get them in Norman.  Winner has an excellent chance to be in the top four, although there's still the championship game to navigate.  Does OU have a letdown after the crazy Bedlam win last week?  Stay tuned.

(3) NOTRE DAME (8-1) (-3) at (7) MIAMI (8-0)  7:00 pm  ABC--Have your remote ready.  The Irish have the most impressive resume of one loss teams and if they win out, they're a lock to be in the playoff.  They still must navigate games against Navy and Stanford, but this is the big one for them.  The Hurricanes are undefeated and their spanking of Virginia Tech last week was pretty impressive.  That was the first statement.  Can Mark Richt make another this week?
