Three players have been most often mentioned as the leading candidates for the Heisman Trophy.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that three players have been invited to New York for the Heisman ceremony this Saturday night.

Two of them have a chance to make history.

Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel would be the first freshman to win the award.  Manei Te'o of Notre Dame would be the first defense-only player.  The third candidate is Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein.

Texas A&M will play Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl.  Notre Dame plays for the BCS title against Alabama and Kansas State will take on Oregon in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl..
