Louisiana's J. J. Thomas has been named to the preseason All-Sun Belt first team by the league's basketball coaches.

Thomas, a sophomore from Opelousas, had a stellar freshman campaign, where he averaged 11.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.  His play led a Cajuns' resurgence that saw Louisiana win its last eleven regular season games.

Thomas was joined on the first team by preseason Player of the Year Augustine Rubit of South Alabama, the Florida Atlantic duo of Raymond Taylor and Greg Gantt, and Arkansas State's Martavius Adams.
