Welcome to Championship Week in fantasy football, congratulations we've made it through and hopefully you're competing this weekend for a title. Even if you're not or you're competing for a consolation championship keep pushing and finish as well as you can.

As a rule of thumb, if you're new to our weekly fantasy football column we don't look at players off the waiver wire who are owned in more than 50% of leagues and we use ESPN.

Happy hunting.

QUARTERBACKS:

Andy Dalton, CIN @ MIA (5% Owned)

Normally you're not playing Andy Dalton and it's difficult for me to suggest you put your championship fate in the hands of the red rifle. However, he's got the cake of cake match-ups against the Miami Dolphins. The fins rank 27th against opposing fantasy quarterbacks and here's how the last three QB's have fared against Miami's defense:

Eli Manning: 20/28, 283 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT

Sam Darnold: 20/36, 270 yards, 2 TD, INT

Carson Wentz: 28/46, 310 yards, 3 TD, INT

Gardner Minshew, JAX @ ATL (16% Owned)

If you streamed Minshew mania last week you needed some Minshew magic in the second half of their game against the Oakland Raiders. At halftime, Minshew had three points and you were probably cursing me out but he ended up with two late touchdowns to get you to 18 points and your day was salvaged. This week he's got another good match-up facing the Atlanta Falcons who rank 28th against opposing QBs fantasy-wise.

Drew Lock, DEN vs. DET (4% Owned)

I know it was a tough game last week for young Drew Lock who played at snowy Kansas City last week but there might be smoother sledding ahead, see what I did there? The Denver Broncos will take on the Detriot Lions at home and the Lions have been nothing short of fantasy gold for opposing QBs as they rank 29th against fantasy QBs. If you're looking for a championship week streamer you might be able to find a diamond in the rough with Lock.

RUNNING BACKS:

Mike Boone/Alexander Mattison, MIN vs. GB (0.2%/30% Owned)

The fantasy football owners with Dalvin Cook are panicking a bit after he sustained a shoulder injury that could potentially cost him the remainder of the season. Of course, this sucks for Cook, his owners, and the Vikings and if Mattison was healthy this wouldn't be all that big of a problem but he's dealing with an injury as well. So, Mike Boone stepped to the forefront and rushed for two touchdowns this past weekend. The safe bet here is to claim both guys and then monitor it this week to see who's going to be healthy.

Boston Scott, PHI vs. DAL (8 % Owned)

No Jordan Howard meant tons of production yet again for Miles Sanders and Boston Scott. Scott wasn't terribly effective on Sunday but he did enough on the ground and through the air to give you double-digit fantasy points. Howard's status is still up in the air but if he doesn't play again this weekend that'll mean more productivity for Sanders and Scott.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

Breshad Perriman, TB vs. HOU (9% Owned)

Holy Breshad Perriman. My guy had two touchdowns all season before this weekend and against the Lions, he had THREE, plus five catches and 113 yards with Mike Evans out. Now, Chris Godwin had to leave this past weekend's game early due to a hamstring injury and we're currently waiting for the results of an MRI to reveal the severity of it to gauge whether or not he'll play this week. Regardless, this is Perriman's time to shine and if you played him last week you were reaping the benefits, hopefully, he'll produce in a good match-up this weekend against the Texans.

Zach Pascal, IND vs. CAR (40% Owned)

Welp, T.Y. Hilton playing on Monday night threw a wrench in your Zach Pascal plans for him having a big game but honestly, Hilton didn't look right and we'll see how he performs moving forward. I'm still a believer in Pascal as the healthiest receiver within that Colts offense and they'll have solid match-up this week at home against the Carolina Panthers who rank 28th against opposing fantasy WRs.

Chris Conley, JAX @ ATL (19% Owned)

The injury to fellow WR DJ Chark proved fruitful for Chris Conley who came away with a solid 20 point fantasy day against the Oakland Raiders last week. You've gotta monitor Chark's injury status as the week goes on but on Monday he was cleared to do on-field work. He should be a deeper league flex-spot consideration this week against the Atlanta Falcons.

TIGHT ENDS:

Tyler Higbee LAR @ SF (39% Owned)

Higbee has been on fire lately in a world of mediocre tight ends he has been a revelation averaging nearly 22 fantasy points over his last three games. Normally the match-up coming up this week would make me leery but the 49ers are a bit banged on defense. In addition, Jared Goff can't get the football down the field with any accuracy and that should leave Higbee with plenty of work as a safety blanket underneath.

Additional dart throws at tight end:

-Jacob Hollister SEA vs. ARI (45% Owned)

-Dallas Goedert PHI vs. DAL (43% Owned)

-Noah Fant DEN vs. DET (39% Owned)

Best of luck in week sixteen.
