Former LSU linebacker Deion Jones has made a major impact with the Atlanta Falcons since coming into the league as a 2nd rounder in 2016.

Today, the former Tiger was put on injured reserve with a foot injury.

He's the second starter on defense to go on IR for the Falcons, who put starting cornerback Keanu Neal on injured reserve after he injured his knee in a week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Neal was the Falcons 1st round pick in 2016.

Both Jones and Neal were Pro Bowlers last season.

Jones, a New Orleans native and graduate of Jesuit high, has played some of his best football against New Orleans. He has an interception in each game he's faced the Saints, and hit Alvin Kamara on the first drive of last year's game in Atlanta which left Kamara concussed and removed from the rest of the game.

Atlanta hosts New Orleans in week 3.
