Louisiana head football coach picked up a big commitment, both in a literal and figurative sense, earlier this week.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Harrington was known to have 14 offers, including those from Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Air Force, Southern Miss, Rice, Kansas and South Alabama.

A three-time All-District pick, Harrington becomes the third offensive lineman to commit to Louisiana, joining Neville’s Logan Newell and Chalmette’s Nathan Thomas.

Harrington joins West Florida Tech (Pensacola, Florida) defensive back Amir McDaniel, E D White (Thibodaux, La.) athlete/receiver Grandon Legendre, Metairie (La.) Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, La.) quarterback Chandler Fields, Neville (Monroe, La.) offensive tackle Logan Newell, Mcdonough 35 (New Orleans, La.) safety Jaden Henderson, South Oak Cliff (Dallas, Texas) cornerback Bobby Holmes, Spring (Texas) High quarterback Clifton McDowell, Glendale (Arizona) Community College receiver Brian Smith and Chalmette (Louisiana) High offensive tackle Nathan Thomas as UL football verbal commitments.
