NFL history was made on Monday night.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees surpassed Peyton Manning as the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards.

And he did it in style too!.

Brees connected with rookie Tre'Quan Smith on a 62-yard touchdown pass with less than 2:00 to play in the first half of Monday night's 43-19 win over the Washington Redskins; a throw that put Brees in the record books.

The 39-year Brees now has 72,103 passing yards to his credit.

Not bad for a guy who some said was "too short" and didn't have a "strong enough arm" to become a good NFL starting quarterback.

Brees was mic'd up by the NFL on Monday night, as everyone knew he'd likely break the record.
