Downtown Library Evacuated

The Main Branch of the Lafayette Public Library is being evacuated at this hour amid a fire alarm activation.

According to the Lafayette Parish 911 system, the fire alarm was activated at 4:10 p.m.

The Lafayette Fire Department is currently on the scene.

Calls to the Lafayette FD spokesman have gone unanswered, but KPEL will continue to update the story as further details are released.
