Novak Djokovic won his second straight WImbledon and third overall by defeating Roger Federer in a rematch of the 2014 final.  Djokovic got a service break in each of the last two sets to win, 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3,

Djokovic was broken only once and that was in the first set, which he won on a tiebreaker  After Federer fought off six set points to win the second set tiebreaker, the Serbian was able to get breaks in each of the last two sets to claim the victory, winning the final game at love.

It is the ninth Grand Slam title for Djokovic.

Federer was denied his bid for his 18th Grand Slam title and a record eighth Wimbledon championship  He is tied with Pete Sampras for the most men's singles title with seven.

Federer led in winners 58-46 but had 35 unforced errors to just 16 for the champion.  Federer had a slight edge in aces (14-13) and first serve percentage, 67% to 66%.
