In Saturday NCAA Regional play, Sun Belt Tournament Champion Coastal Carolina survived elimination by beating Florida A&M 9-4.

In regionals involving state schools early Saturday, Southern University was eliminated by Miami 12-2 and McNeese State dropped its second straight heartbreaker, falling to Ohio State 9-8 in 13 innings.

COASTAL CAROLINA 9, FAMU 4---In Atlanta, Parker Chavers and Jake Wright both homered as the Chanticleers survived.  Wright, Cory Wood and Scott McKeon each had a pair of hits for Coastal.  Starter Nick Parker allowed three runs over five innings, and Austin Kitchen pitched three scoreless innings for the save.  The Chants' pitching staff walked two and struck out eight.  Coastal will face the Auburn-Georgia Tech loser on Sunday.

MIAMI 12, SOUTHERN 2--In Starkville, the Hurricanes' pitching staff carried a two hit shutout into the ninth inning before the Jaguars got on the board.  Rashard Ranie and Zavier Moore had RBI hits for Southern.  Miami scored four times in the first inning and put the game away with an eight run fifth.

OHIO STATE 9, MCNEESE 8 (13)--The Cowboys carried an 8-5 lead into the eighth, but Ohio State tied the game and finally won it in the 13th.  Andrew Magno was stellar out of the bullpen for the Buckeyes, going 7.1 innings, allowing five hits and one run.  He walked two and struck out 12.  A leadoff walk to Connor Puhl opened the inning.  He was bunted to second and scored on Ridge Winand's two out single.  The Cowboys squandered a leadoff double in the tenth.  A one out intentional walk followed and with two out a single loaded the bases.  But Nate Fisbeck grounded out to end the threat.  Peyton McLemore gave up just two hits in five innings of relief but was charged with the loss.
