After winning the AFC East last year, expectations were high for the Kansas City Chiefs this season.

The failure to meet those expectations have cost Coach Todd Haley his job.

The Chiefs fired Haley today with three games left in the season, after Kansas City stumbled to a 5-8 record.

Although no interim coach was named in the statement issued by the club, it is believed defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel will take over on an interim basis.

The move was made although the Chiefs lost quarterback Matt Cassel with a hand injury.  Backup Tyler Palko has struggled since moving into the starting role.
