Charles "Peanut" Tillman, current Chicago Bear and former UL Ragin' Cajun, has been announced as the commencement speaker at UL's graduation on May 17th.

Tillman will speak at the 11am general assembly for all graduates, their families and friends. Each academic college hands out degrees at separate ceremonies.

Charles Tillman played for the Ragin' Cajuns from 1999 to 2002. He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from UL in only three and a half years.

He was then drafted in the second round by the Bears in 2002 and has shined on the field as one of the top cornerbacks in the league. Tillman has made the Pro Bowl twice in his career, but it may be his work off the field that has made him a fan favorite in Chicago.

In February, he was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, which honors a player's volunteer and charity work, as well as his excellence on the field.
