The San Diego Chargers are moving to Los Angeles.

Adam Shefter and ESPN were the first to report the move.

The Chargers, who were given an extension by the NFL through the weekend on their option to join the Rams in Los Angeles, have played the last 55 seasons in San Diego, after playing one season in Los Angeles, in the old American Football League, back in 1960.

The Chargers will join the Rams as a second team in the L.A. market.

They will play their home games in Inglewood in a stadium owned by Stan Kroenke, owner of the Rams, Probably.

A proposed joint stadium with the Raiders in Carson, Calif. was rejected last January.

The Chargers have elected to exercise an option to move after a failed ballot initiative for a new stadium in San Diego in November.

Reports say the franchise has informed Commissioner Roger Goodell and owners of their intention to move for the 2017 season, but that a formal relocation letter has not yet been sent to the NFL.

The Rams didn't exactly take the city of Los Angeles by storm in 2016, and now we'll see if the Chargers can do any better, and with competition?

The Los Angeles Chargers are on the way.
