Carl Granderson Practicing With Saints

A possible future member of the New Orleans Saints will be practicing with the team, after serving a jail sentence.

Carl Granderson, who the Saints signed as an undrafted rookie defensive end out of Wyoming, spent 43 days in jail, and is now practicing with the team.

Granderson, who was accused of inappropriately touching two women while they slept at his apartment in 2018, was charged with third-degree sexual assault and sexual battery.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Granderson reached a plea agreement with prosecutors and pleaded no contest to lesser charges of sexual battery and unlawful contact, which would have had him serving one-year of probation, plus mental evaluation, before a Wyoming judge rejected it.

Granderson was then sent to jail, where he immediately began his sentence on July 11.

The Saints received a two-week roster exemption for Granderson, so he is allowed to practice with the team during that time.

The Saints now have two weeks to make a roster decision on Granderson.

Granderson compiled 16.5 sacks in his four years at Wyoming.
