It was a great offensive weekend for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

The Cajuns scored 28 runs and hammered out 40 hits in winning two out of three games from defending champion and pre-season favorite Coastal Carolina.

But, they remain on the outside looking in as far as the conference tournament is concerned.

That's because the teams they were closest to all won their series this weekend as well.  And, South Alabama swept Little Rock.

The Cajuns remain 1/2 game behind ULM and one game behind Arkansas State for the tenth and final spot in the tournament, to be held at Springs Brooks Stadium in Conway, SC.

But the standings are so jumbled, the Cajuns find themselves just two games away from seventh.  And, the Cajuns do have the more favorable schedule the rest of the way, giving them an opportunity to make up some ground with two weeks left.

Here's what happened over the weekend:

LA at CCU:  LA 10-0, 9-7, CCU 11-9

UTA at ULM:  UTA 10-2, ULM 8-0, 6-3

APP STATE AT A-STATE:  STATE 10-2, 27-8, APP 7-4

LITTLE ROCK AT SOUTH ALABAMA:  USA 8-1, 7-2, 9-8

GA SO AT TROY:  TROY 10-3, 5-4, GS 11-3

GA STATE AT TXST:  TXST 5-1, GSU 3-1, TXST 12-2 (8)

Texas State remains in control in the West, but there is just one game separating first place from fifth in the East.

EAST:  GASO 13-11, CCU 12-11, APP STATE 12-11, TROY 12-12, USA 12-12, GSU 5-19

WEST:  TXST 17-7, UTA 15-9, LR 13-10, ASTATE 11-13, ULM 10-13, LA 10-14
