Cajuns Travel Face Face Red Wolves

Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Tuesday evening, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in a key Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate begins at 5 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Hampton Toyota Pregame Show, which will begin at 6 pm.

Kickoff time at Centennial Bank Stadium is set for 7 o’clock.

Louisiana, who defeated Texas St., 49-27, back on October 10, is currently 2-3 on the season, and 1-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 30.8 points-per-game, along with 433.6 total yards, 231.2 rushing yards, and 202.3 passing yards, while allowing 32.4 points, 408.2 total yards, 188.6 rushing yards, and 219.6 passing yards.

Louisiana is led by junior running back Elijah McGuire, who has compiled 585 yards, along with 7 touchdowns, on 97 carries.

Arkansas St., who defeated South Alabama last week, 41-29, will head into the match-up at 3-3, overall, and 2-0 in league play.

Offensively, the Red Wolves are averaging 33.5 points, along with 386.2 total yards, 198.3 rushing yards, and 187.8 passing yards a contest, while allowing 31.7 points, 375.8 total yards, 230.2 passing yards, and 145.7 rushing yards.

Arkansas St. is paced by junior running back Michael Gordon, who has run for 490 yards and five touchdowns.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 22-19-1, including a 55-40 win over the Red Wolves a year ago.
