Back in the fall, Ron Guidry was officially inducted into the UL Hall of Fame.

This Friday night, he'll be honored again.

Coach Tony Robichaux announced today the Cajuns will wear special uniforms Friday night as part of "Ron Guidry Weekend" at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

The Uniforms are cream colored in the front with "Cajuns" in script with the number 3, which Guidry wore while pitching for USL.  The back of the uniform will be the Yankee pinstripes with Ron's number 49.

The jerseys will be auctioned off Friday through Sunday with proceeds going to the Capital Campaign for the stadium upgrades.  Guidry will autograph all of the jerseys that are purchased.

"We talked to the conference to make sure it was ok that all of our players would be wearing the same number,"  head coach Tony Robichaux said.  "Major League Baseball does it on Jackie Robinson Day and we thought it would be a great tribute to Ron to honor both number 3 and number 49."

In addition, Guidry will be available on Saturday to sign autographs in the Lourdes Park area of the stadium.  He and family members will be throwing out the first pitch at all three games this weekend.

Louisiana will meet Appalachian State in a three game series beginning Friday.  Game times are 6pm Friday, 6pm Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday.
