Cajuns softball ranked #17 by NFCA

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team once again finds itself among the nation's elite, as they have been ranked preseason #17 by USA Today and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The Cajuns participated in the NCAA Super Regionals for the second time in three years a season ago, winning the Baton Rouge Regional before falling in the Supers to eventual national champion UCLA.

The Cajuns were ranked 16th in the final poll a year ago.  It was the 18th time the Cajuns finished in the Top 25 in the last 20 seasons.

Louisiana opens the 2011 season February 11th in the 25th annual Louisiana Classics Tournament at Lamson Park.  They will face Rhode Island at 2:00pm.
