Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns softball team (53-4) took care of business Thursday night in Tempe, Arizona, defeating the Arizona State Sun Devils 6-0 in Game 1 of the Tempe Super Regional.

Freshmen sensation Jordan Wallace (pictured left) was fantastic, pitching a complete game shutout against the defending national champs, beating them for the second time this season. She allowed only 2 hits in 7 innings pitched, fanned 3 batters, only walked 1, and continously forced the Sun Devil batters into ground outs and pop-ups. The victory improves her 2012 record to 27-1.

Louisiana's top ranked offense was on display as well, earning 12 hits off of Dallas Escobedo (22-6). Nerissa Myers, Matte Haack, Brianna Cherry, and Natalie Fernandez all had multiple hits.

Paige Cormier and Sarah Draheim each drilled solo homers to begin the 4th inning, giving the Cajuns a 2-0 lead. Haack hit a sacrifice fly in the 5th, scoring Myers. Haack hit another RBI in the 7th, this time a single that brought home Katie Smith. Cherry singled in the next at bat, scoring both Haack and Myers.

Louisiana will now prepare for Game 2 on Friday night. First pitch is set for 8:00. An in neccessary Game 3 would follow Game 2. You can hear all the action right here on espn1420.com. Pre-game begins at 7:40.

If the Cajuns can capture a win on Friday, they would advance to their 6th World Series in school history.
