Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun running back Elijah McGuire established himself as one of college football’s most electric, versatile football players over his first three collegiate seasons.

McGuire, the 2014 Sun Belt Conference player of the year, also appears on the Watch Lists for the Doak Walker Award, the Maxwell Award Watch List and the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

Heading into his senior season, McGuire is being recognized for his skills, earning a spot on the prestigious Paul Hornung Watch List, given to the most versatile player in college football.

The Houma native finished 2015 with 1,058 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns on the ground, along with 33 receptions, 293 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.

McGuire’s 3,185 rushing yards currently ranks 3rd best in school history.

The Paul Hornung award (presented by Texas Roadhouse) has quickly gained high esteem since being established by the Louisville Sports Commission. The winner will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung award banquet in Louisville this January.

Louisiana kicks off their season at home on September 3rd against the Boise State Broncos.
