In the spring, Ragin' Cajuns Athletics offered free video streaming for all home softball and baseball games.

And, the numbers didn't lie.

As a result, Louisiana will provide free video streaming for all home sporting events for the entire athletic season in all sports.

The announcement was made by Director of Athletics Dr. Bryan Maggard.

"We felt this was both important and beneficial for our fans, student-athletes, and recruits.  Maggard said.  This shift will provide viewers the opportunity to watch all of our home events from anywhere in the world while increasing the visibility of our university, sport programs, and student-athletes."

The decision to go to a free stream for baseball and softball produced these results:  Baseball viewership went from 8,500 in 2016 under the subscription model to over 31,000, while softball increased from 6.000 to nearly 24,000.

All home events not on the ESPN family of networks will be available on ragincajuns.com
