After winning 43 games a year ago and returning their entire weekend rotation and eight of nine offensive starters, it's not a surprise Sun Belt coaches think the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns are the team to beat in 2014.

The Cajuns got eight of ten first place votes to easily outdistance South Alabama for the favorite's spot.  The Jaguars were picked second, with Troy third and league newcomer Texas State fourth.

In addition, six Cajuns were named to the preseason all-conference team.  OF/DH Caleb Adams was named the pre-season player of the year, while right handed pitcher Austin Robichaux was tabbed as the pre-season pitcher of the year.  Adams was voted first team DH, while Robichaux got a nod as a first team pitcher.

In addition, catcher Michael Strentz, shortstop Blake Trahan, third baseman Tyler Girouard and outfielder Seth Harrison were named to the pre-season all conference team.

The Cajuns open the 2014 season this Friday against Eastern Illinois.
