Tuesday was win 900 for Tony Robichaux and on Wednesday he captured win number 901 as his squad beat the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana 9-8.

There were some lineup changes on both sides of this match-up but for Louisiana, you had Tremaine Spears at the DH and Connor Dupuy was in at third.

The addition of Tremaine Spears would pay immediate dividends as he got an opportunity in the second inning with Handsome Monica in scoring position with two outs and he came through with an RBI single.

The Lions then came back with two runs of their own via a Preston Faulkner two-run shot to take the 2-1 lead.

That lead wouldn't last long as UL would plate three in the fourth starting with an Orynn Veillon RBI single and then a two-run home run by Tremaine Spears, 4-2 Cajuns.

Dalton Horton was cruising through three innings despite the home run as he was pitching with good rhythm and tempo. However, he ran into trouble in the fourth and was knocked out giving up all six runs as Blake Schultz came into relieve him. When it was all said and done Southeastern held a 6-4 lead.

The Lions lead would only last for an inning as the Cajuns roared back with five runs of their own in the sixth to recapture the lead at 9-6.

In the eighth, Louisiana pitching struggled with Michael Leaumont giving up two runs in a third of an inning and Brandon Young could only record one out as well. Gunner Leger entered the game and shut down the Lion rally recording the final out of the inning.

Gunner would go on to slam the door shut and record his second save of the season as the Cajuns won 9-8.

Blake Schultz picked up his third win of the season (3-1) and the team improved to 15-16 on the season.

Up next for Louisiana will be a date with Sun Belt Conference West Division leader Arkansas State for a weekend series starting on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
