Joe Robbins hit a fourth inning grand slam to break open a tight game and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns took advantage of ULM wildness to add five more runs in the fifth enroute to a 16-2 thrashing of the Warhawks Thursday night in Monroe.

The win, combined with Georgia Southern's loss to Georgia State, moved the Cajuns past the Eagles into potential fourth seed position for the Sun Belt Tournament beginning Tuesday in Statesboro, GA.

Gunner Leger (10-2) worked six innings for the win, allowing seven hits and two runs.  He walked three and struck out four in a 93 pitch effort.  Trey Auger (0-4) gave up four hits and five runs with four walks and four strikeouts in 4.1 innings to take the loss.

Evan Guillory threw two scoreless innings and Chris Charpentier struck out the side in just eleven pitches in the ninth.

Robbins' blast, his second grand slam of the season, greeted Tyler Schwaner, who came on after Auger loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batsman.  The homer, right down the left field line, was Robbiins' sixth of the season and gave Louisiana (33-20-1, 17-10-1) a 6-1 lead.

Robbins finished 2-5 with two runs scored and five RBI.  Todd Lott had a pair of hits and drove in three runs, while Zach Lafleur had a pair of hits and scored twice.  Handsome Monica homered and scored three times for the Cajuns.

Turner Francis, Chad Bell and Tyler Cox each had a pair of hits for ULM (12-41, 6-22), which lost its eleventh straight game.

The two teams will play tomorrow night at 6:00 pm.
