The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns opened up a double digit lead in the first five minutes and rolled to the largest margin of victory in school history, obliterating Oklahoma Panhandle State 117-47 Thursday night at Blackham Coliseum.

The Cajuns placed five men in double figures and played thirteen players in the contest, with each player tallying at least two field goals.  Bryce Washington scored 20 points on 8-9 shooting and tied his career high with 13 rebounds in just 18 minutes.  Freshman Roydell Brown, who did not score in the Cajuns' first two games, was 6-6 from the field, scoring 15 points, while Frank Bartley IV added 12 points, with Johnathan Stove tallying eleven points while Lorenz Stalcup chipped in ten.  All thirteen players played at least nine minutes in the game.

The numbers were lopsided in just about every category.  Louisiana outscored the visitors 76-10 in the paint, led 34-4 in points off turnovers, 28-3 in second chance points and 28-0 in fast break points.  The Cajuns outshot the Aggies 64.5 to 26.2 percent and outrebounded OPSU 55-19.  Freshman Jerekius Davis had eight rebounds and sophomore Scott Plaisance had a career high seven rebounds in the contest.

The 117 points were the third highest scored in school history, and the margin of victory broke the old record, set against St. Leo 44 years ago (116-49).

The Cajuns led 36-20 with 7:38 to play in the first half, but then went on a 20-0 run, with Brown scoring nine to make the score 56-20 with 2:34 to play.  The Cajuns finshed the first half with a 65-25 lead and Louisiana (1-2) came out with the first fifteen points of the second half and led 80-25, finishing off a 44-5 run.  The Cajuns substituted  liberally the rest of the way.
