The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and quarterback Terrance Broadway missed wide receiver Jamal Robinson the last three games while the senior was sidelined with a meniscus injury which required surgery.

Saturday night, Robinson showed why.

The Cajuns' biggest outside playmaker caught eight passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winner as Louisiana broke a three game losing streak, defeating Georgia State 34-31 before 24,616 at Cajun Field Saturday night.

Louisiana (2-3, 1-0 Sun Belt) began its drive after Georgia State (1-4, 0-2) took the lead 31-28 on Marcus Caffey's third touchdown of the night.  Caffey's score came at the end of a 10-play, 75 yard drive which gave the Panthers their final lead of the night in the see saw contest.

With quarterback Terrance Broadway in the locker room after a leg injury suffered on the Cajuns' previous touchdown drive, sophomore Brooks Haack marched the Cajuns downfield, completing 4-4 passes for 50 yards, including two to Al Riles which covered 29 yards and moved the Cajuns to the GSU 21.  Broadway re-entered and found Robinson on the right side for the touchdown on his first play from scrimmage.

Georgia State had one last chance, but Darrius Hoggins stopped Robert Davis two yards short of a first down from the GSU 29 with 1:07 remaining to ice the win.

The Cajuns got on the board on their first possession of the game on a 54 yard run by Elijah McGuire to give UL a 7-0 lead.  But the Panthers drove 91 yards on the next possession to tie the score, aided by a fake punt by Wil Lutz that gained 26 yards and three Cajuns' penalties.  Duvall Smith's short touchdown run knotted the score at the end of a 16-play drive that took over six minutes.  The Cajuns had appeared to score defensively when Corey Trim returned what was ruled a lateral for a long touchdown.  But the Cajuns were flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for getting too excited during the return, and then lost possession when replay ruled the lateral was an incomplete pass.

Georgia State took the lead two possessions later on a 96 yard drive culminating with Caffey's first touchdown, a 12 yard run to give the Panthers a 14-7 lead with 5:08 to go until halftime.  Quarterback Nick Arbuckle completed passes of 15, 29 and 24 yards on the drive.

The Cajuns got that score right back as Broadway completed five passes for ten yards or more, including a 19 yard touchdown pass to Robinson to tie the game.  Georgia State, however, would get a field goal on the last play of the first half to give the Panthers a 17-14 lead headed into the locker room.

The Cajuns moved 73 yards in 13 plays after the second half kickoff with Alonzo Harris scoring from one yard out to put the Cajuns back out in front, 21-17.  After the teams traded punts, Georgia State got a quick score on Caffey's one yard run, which was set up on an Arbuckle 62 yard completion to Donovan Harden, giving the Panthers a 24-21 lead.

The Cajuns then put together a 12 play 75 yard drive to re-take the lead on Harris' one yard run, which set the stage for the final two scores of the game.

Elijah McGuire led the Cajuns rushing attack with 90 yards on just six carries.  Harris added 60 yards on 16 tries and Broadway chipped in with 35 yards on five totes.  Caffey led GSU with 90 yards on 27 carries.

Broadway completed 20-26 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns.  Arbuckle, the league's leader in total offense, was 19-27 for 276 yards.

Al Riles caught eight passes for 80 yards to compliment Robinson's performance, while Davis and Harden combined for 10 catches good for 154 yards.

The Cajuns won the offensive output battle 461 yards to 425.

The Cajuns entered the game as the least penalized team in the Sun Belt, but were flagged 13 times for 115 yards.  Georgia State had 79 penalty yards on ten flags.

Louisiana will now head to San Marcos, Texas to take on Texas State on Tuesday, October 14th for a game to be nationally televised on ESPN2.  Gametime will be at 7pm.
