The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have been very good in midweek games this year, compiling a 10-2 record, including 4-0 at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

That mark will get a real test tonight.

The Cajuns (20-17), winners of five straight games, play host to long time rival Louisiana Tech (25-13) in a 6:00 pm contest.  Fans can hear the game on ESPN1420, espn1420.com and the ESPN1420 mobile app beginning at 5:30.

This will be the 145th meeting all time between the two schools, with Louisiana holding a 79-65 edge.  Tony Robichaux is 28-11 against Tech in his career.  The two teams split a pair of meetings last year, with each winning on its own field.

What's made Tech so good this year?  Look no farther than the pitching staff. The Bulldogs sport a 2.56 ERA, the third best mark in Division I.  Louisiana Tech will send lefty David Leal (2-2, 1.74) to the mound tonight.  Leal has put up stellar numbers as the Tech midweek starter, allowing just 39 hits in 57 innings this year.  Leal has struck out 53 batters on the year, while walking only five.  Leal suffered a hard luck loss last week, losing 2-0 to LSU in a complete game effort.

Freshman Austin Perrin (2-4, 4.50) will get the start for the Cajuns.  Perrin has pitched very well of late, allowing just seven earned runs over his last 23.2 innings over seven appearances (2.66 ERA).  This will be Perrin's sixth start of the season.

Tonight's game is the first of four in a row at Russo Park for the Cajuns, who will host Little Rock this weekend in a Sun Belt Conference series.  The Cajuns will return the trip to Ruston next Tuesday at J. C. Love Field.
