Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun football team returns to the gridiron on Saturday afternoon, when coach Mark Hudspeth’s squad plays host to the Idaho Vandals in a Sun Belt Conference match-up.

The game, which will serve as UL's homecoming game, will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the two schools, with the Cajuns leading the all-time series, 3-1, despite Idaho winning the last meeting, 38-25, back in 2004..

The Cajun Harley Davidson Tailgate show, begins at 2 pm on ESPN 1420 and espn1420.com, with the rest of the network, including Hot 107.9 and 1079ishot.com, joining the broadcast in time for the Southside Honda Pregame Show, which will begin at 3 o’clock.

Kickoff time at Cajun Field is set for 4 pm.

Louisiana, who was idle last week, defeated Texas St., 27-3, back on October 22, to improve to 3-4, overall, and 2-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Offensively, the Cajuns are averaging 23.6 points-per-game, to go along with 378.0 total yards, including 182.0 rushing yards, and 196.0 passing yards, while allowing 27.9 points, and 384.1 total yards, including 122.3 rushing yards, and 261.9 passing yards.

Louisiana is led by senior quarterback Anthony Jennings, who has completed 122-of-194 passes for 1,281 yards and 9 touchdowns, and senior running back Elijah McGuire, who has rushed for 672 yards and five touchdowns.

Idaho, who was also idle last week, lost to Appalachian St., back on October 22, and will enter the match-up at 4-4, overall, and 2-2 in league play.

Offensively, the Vandals are averaging 24.3 points-per-game, to go along with 373.4 total yards, including 132.5 rushing yards, and 240.9 passing yards a contest, while allowing 35.9 points, to go along with 460.8 total yards, including 174.0 rushing yards, and 286.8 passing yards.

Idaho is paced by junior quarterback Matt Linehan, who has completed 158-of-268 passes for 1,883 yards and 9 touchdowns, and junior running back Aaron Duckworth, who has rushed for 512 yards and four touchdowns.

The game marks the only game of a short one-game homestand for the Cajuns, who are on the road for a match-up against Georgia Southern on Saturday, November 10.
