The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have their first home series in conference play this weekend,, hosting Appalachian State in a three game series at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.

Game times are 6:30 pm Friday, 2:00 pm Saturday, with a special start time of 10:30 am Sunday to accommodate App State's travel plans.  All three games can be heard on NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL-FM with pre game beginning 30 minutes before the first pitch.

The Cajuns (10-12, ,2-1 Sun Belt) and Mountaineers (8-11, 1-2) have met only twelve times in school history, all since Appalachian State joined the Sun Belt.  The Cajuns are 8-4 against App State, 4-2 in games played at "the Tigue."

With Gunner Leger missing his scheduled start this weekend, coach Tony Robichaux will turn to right hander Jacob Schultz (0-0 1.16 ERA), who will be making his first conference start.  The rest of the weekend's pitching rotation is TBA.

The Mountaineers send right hander Will Sprinkle (1-3, 3.73) to the mound tonight to oppose Schultz.  Lefty Tyler Tuthill (4-1) takes the hill on Saturday.  Head coach Kermit Smith has not named a starter for Sunday.

The Mountaineers boast the league's leading hitter in freshman Luke Drumheller.  Drumheller is hitting .417 on the season and leads the team in RBI with 20.

The Cajuns hope to get 1B/OF Daniel Lahare back this weekend.  Lahare has missed the last three games with an ankle injury.  But Louisiana will be without the services of 3B Jonathan Windham for the rest of the season.  Windham broke a bone in his foot in the Little Rock series.  O'Neal Lochridge has moved into the starting lineup.

The Cajuns host Tulane Tuesday night to wrap up their four game homestand before visiting Troy next weekend.
