The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns finish off their season opening four game road trip as they travel to Brown-Stroud field in Natchitoches in a game scheduled for 4pm (CST).

Neither team got off to the start they wanted over the weekend, as the Cajuns lost two of three games to UT San Antonio over the weekend.  The Demons lost the first three games at Sun Belt member Troy, before bouncing back in the finale to avoid the four game sweep.

Northwestern State (1-3) was in a position to split the series, but Troy scored five runs in the final two innings of game two in an 8-7 comeback win.

The biggest issue for the Demons over the weekend was their offense.  Despite returning seven everyday players from last season, the Demons were shut out twice in the four game series and hit just .195 as a team.   C. J. Webster was 6-16 for the Demons with five RBI, but he's the only Demon who hit .300 over the weekend.

The Cajuns, meanwhile, look to find some consistency in the pitching staff, which had a 5.76 ERA  this past weekend and surrendered six home runs.  The Cajuns hit .304 as a team.

Freshman Gunner Leger (0-0, 9.00) will start for the Cajuns, after giving up one run in one inning of work against UTSA.

Left hander Austin Tanner, who started against the Cajuns last year, giving up three runs in three innings, will pitch for Lane Burroughs' Demons.  Tanner had ten starts for the Demons a year ago and threw one scoreless inning against Troy this past weekend.

The Cajuns have won five straight games against the Demons and thirteen of the last seventeen meetings between the two teams.  This is the 130th meeting between the two schools, with Louisiana holding an 81-48 all time lead.

The game will be heard on ESPN1420 and espn1420.com beginning at 3:30pm.
