Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun men’s basketball team returns to the hardwood on Wednesday evening, when coach Bob Marlin’s squad plays host to the Loyola (New Orleans) Wolf Pack in a non-conference match-up.

Tipoff time at the Cajundome is set for 7 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, as well as Hot 107.9 & 1079ishot.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 pm.

The game marks the final tune-up before the Cajuns open Sun Belt Conference play on December 3 against ULM.

Louisiana, who fell to Alabama last Thursday night, 105-93, is 1-2 on the young season, while Loyola, an NAIA school, will enter the match-up with a record of 4-3.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 92.7/88.7, and outshooting them from the floor, 51%/49%, while also holding down a 43.3/29.3 rebound advantage.

Louisiana is led by senior forward Shawn Long, who is averaging 20.0 points, to go along with 10.7 rebounds-per-game, and senior guard Kasey Shepherd, who is averaging 15 points a contest.

Loyola is being outscored by the opposition, 83.7/81.1, while also outshooting opponents, 44%/42%, while holding down a 46.0/38.1 rebounding advantage.

The Wolf Pack is paced by junior guard Jalen Gray, who is scoring 17.7 points-per-game.

Loyola leads the all-time series, 16-14.
