Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns turned the ball over four times and found themselves down by ten points, 27-17 with six minutes to go.

But the Cajuns rallied behind sophomore quarterback Terrance Broadway and shocked the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, 31-27 before 20, 314 at Cajun Field.

The win makes the Cajuns (6-4, 4-2 Sun Belt) bowl eligible for the second straight year.

The Cajuns had almost 600 yards in offense in the game, but three Cajuns' second half turnovers put the home team in trouble.

And, when Antoine Andrews rushed 13 yards for a touchdown to put WKU up by two scores, some of the fans on "blackout" night headed for the exits.

But Louisiana drove 72 yards on 19 plays to cut the lead to 27-24 with 2:43 left.

WKU (6-5, 3-4) ran three plays but failed to get a first down.  Hilltoppers' Coach WIllie Taggart elected to punt the football on fourth and one, and it looked like it might pay off when Hendrix Brakefield punted the ball to the Cajuns seven yard line.

That's when Broadway went to work, with no time outs and just 1:32 remaining.

Broadway completed five of six passes on the final drive, with four of them going to wide receiver Harry Peoples, who had 13 catches for 144 yards.  Broadway carried it in himself from fourteen yards out with :38 left for the game winner.

The Cajuns' drive was aided by a critical 15 yard personal foul penalty, when Peoples was hit out of bounds.  That moved the football to the WKU 29.

The Hilltoppers drove to the Cajuns 35, but quarterback Kawuan Jakes' pass to the end zone was incomplete on the game's final play.

Broadway completed 23 of 33 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown to Jamal Robinson, for the first of two critical fourth quarter scores.  He was intercepted twice.  The sophomore from Baton Rouge was also the Cajuns' leading rusher with 145 yards on just 14 carries.  Broadway was one of two 100-yard rushers for the Cajuns.  Alonzo Harris had 104 yards on ten carries before leaving the game with an injury.

Freshman Torry Pierce had 68 yards on four carries and scored twice for the Cajuns, who rushed for 324 yards on just 34 carries.

Antoine Andrews put in yeoman's work for the 'Toppers, rushing for 238 yards on 37 carries.  with nearly 200 coming in the second half.  He scored twice.

The Cajuns wore black jerseys for the first time in school history.  The game was billed as "Blackout Night" as part of Military Appreciation Weekend.  The uniforms featured a large fleur de lis on the front and white numerals on the back.

The Cajuns will celebrate senior day with a game against South Alabama next Saturday at Cajun Field.  Kickoff will be at 4pm.
