Consistently inconsistent has been the phrase used a lot to describe the Ragin' Cajun pitching this season and there was no better example than on Tuesday night.

The team led 6-3 going into the bottom of the ninth and they couldn't record three outs and were walked off by the Golden Mississippi Golden Eagles 7-6.

It was a fast start for the offense in this one as they used five hits to score three runs with the big blast coming via Handsome Monica with a two-run shot. 3-0 UL.

In the bottom of the second inning, Logan Savoy recorded the first two outs and then walked a batter and that was in. Caleb Armstrong came on and allowed a hit, a walk, and hit a batter to force in a run, fortunately, that's all he would give up. 3-1 UL.

The Louisiana advantage wouldn't last long as Grant Cox allowed a base runner and then a two-run home run to the Golden Eagles DH Bryant Bowen. With that bomb, the game was tied at 3.

We were tied until the top of the sixth as Hunter Kasuls rocketed a triple to left field to lead off the inning and with one out, Daniel Lahare executes a perfect suicide squeeze to score Kasuls. 4-3 Cajuns.

The lead was lengthened in the 7th when Hayden Cantrelle roped an RBI triple to right field scoring Jordan Wiley. Then, Daniel Lahare executed a suicide squeeze to perfection which scored Cantrelle to increase to Cajun lead to 6-3.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, the bullpen imploded as Jacob Schultz couldn't record the final three outs and allowed four runs as Connor Cooke came into the game and gave up a walk-off double to Cole Donaldson. Cajuns fell 7-6.

Jacob Schultz was saddled with the loss and the Cajuns fell to 20-24 on the season, they're now on a four-game losing streak.

Hitting wise Hunter Kasuls led the way going 3-4 with two runs scored while Handsome Monica went 1-4 with a two-run home run. Additionally, O'Neal Lochridge, Jordan Wiley, and Hayden Cantrelle collected two hits apiece, the team had 13 hits in total.

The Cajuns will return home this weekend as they face Texas State (28-13, 12-6) at the Tigue Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
