Louisiana came into the Oklahoma Courtyard Marriott Tournament having lost two games in a row in disappointing fashion. In this tournament, they would be facing two Top-25 teams in #25 Oregon State and #4 Oklahoma.

The Cajuns faced the Beavers in game one on Friday with temperatures hovering around 35 degrees, it didn't take long for Louisiana to heat things up against Oregon State. Summer Ellyson was in the circle for game one of the two games on Friday.

The offense was able to jump on Beaver pitcher Meehra Nelson for three runs in the first as Keeli Milligan cracked an RBI double to give them their first run. Dalton would then reach on an error by second baseman Izzy Owen, that would allow Milligan to score and finally, Julie Rawls scored Sarah Hudek on a double to right field. 3-0 Louisiana.

Fast forward to the third inning and the Cajuns were able to create more havoc as Dalton walked to begin the inning and then was singled to third by Bailey Curry. Sarah Hudek was up next and she was able to clean up the base runner as she singled home Dalton for the RBI. Julie Rawls was next and she grounded into a double play but that allowed another run to score as UL now led 5-0.

Finally, in the fifth inning, the Cajuns were able to end the game via the run rule as they plated three more runs to win 8-0 over #25 Oregon State.

Summer Ellyson dominated in this one allowing just one hit, one walk, struck out four and threw just 56 pitches over five innings. Very economical.

Hitting wise the stars were Sarah Hudek who went a perfect 3-3 scoring two runs, one RBI and two doubles. Also, Julie Rawls finished 2-3 scoring a run, knocking in four and smashing one double.

With the win, the Cajuns move to 15-2 on the year and Summer Ellyson improves to 9-2.

Up next, Louisiana will face the host team #4 Oklahoma at about 4:30 or 5 pm.\
