When he was hired, Louisiana head football coach Billy Napier said the three most important hires would be offensive and defensive coordinator and the strength and conditioning coach.

Today, Napier completed the trifecta.

Mark Hocke, who has worked at some of the most elite football programs in the South, was named as Head Strength and Conditioning as well as Associate Head Coach.

Hocke served under Kevin Sumlin this past season at Texas A&M.  Prior to that position, he served under strength coach Vic Viloria and head coach Jimbo Fisher at Florida State.

He also has served under Mark Richt as Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Georgia and was on Nick Saban's staff at Alabama as an assistant.

A native of New Orleans, Hocke is a graduate of UNO and served on the staff at Jesuit HS in New Orleans.
