Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns and Townsquare Media announced today that Northeast Louisiana will now be able to hear all Ragin’ Cajuns football games during the 2012 season.

KRJO (1680 AM), a 10,000w/day, 1000w/night station is the newest affiliate to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Radio Network.

“We’re excited to add the northeastern part of the state to our radio network,” athletics director Scott Farmer said.  “With the addition of KRJO, Ragin’ Cajuns football can be heard in the five largest media markets in the state and we move one step closer to having covered the entire state of Louisiana.”

Mike Grimsley, Regional Vice President and General Manager for Townsquare Lafayette said “having a 10,000 watt AM station is almost like having a 100,000 watt FM station.  KRJO’s daytime coverage will cover not only the northeastern part of the state, but also southeast Arkansas and western Mississippi.  Their nighttime coverage will serve the Monroe/Ruston metro and other parts of northeastern Louisiana as well.”

KRJO, managed by Bob Holladay, joins flagship KPEL-AM (ESPN1420) and KXHT-FM in Lafayette, KLCL-AM Lake Charles, KJEF-AM Jennings, KTUX-FM Shreveport and WGSO-New Orleans as football affiliates of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Radio Network.

The Cajuns’ 2012 football season begins Saturday, Sept. 1 when Louisiana hosts Lamar at Cajun Field.
