Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team shot 52% from the field in the second half, and 43% for the game. However, it wasn't enough as they lost at home to Nicholls State 72-64. The Lady Cajuns are now 0-2.

Senior Mercedes Johnson did not score in the first half, but came out hot after halftime. She finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points and bringing down 11 rebounds.

Cajun freshman Megan Whittaker was solid from beyond the arc, going 4-6 for 12 points.

Despite several notable performances, a sluggish first half and 23 turnovers was too much for the Cajuns to overcome.

Coach Errol Rogers' squad will travel to Lake Charles on Monday for their next game, matching up with the McNeese State Cowgirls. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
