The sixth ranked Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team extended their winning streak to 10 on Sunday after defeating WKU 4-2. With the victory, the Cajuns improve to 44-2, and 19-2 in Sun Belt Conference play.

Timely hitting from Paige Cormier and Brianna Cherry, coupled with six solid innings of relief from Jordan Wallace (23-0), led the way for the Cajuns.

Natalie Fernandez (pictured left) moved to the leadoff spot in the lineup in place of an absent Katie Smith (illness). She performed well, tallying two base hits in the win.

The sweep was a great way to end a fantastic weekend, one in which the Cajuns won another SBC championship on Saturday. Co-head coach Michael Lotief spoke about his special team after Sunday's win.

“We were talking yesterday and the fifth-year seniors have now been a part of five conference championships and we all agreed that each year has presented adversity, obstacles and stiff challenges," said Lotief. "In order to be the champion of this conference I don’t think people realize how much hard work, sweat and sacrifice it takes. I’m proud of this group, they are truly champions."
