Sunday night, the #6 Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team learned they will host an NCAA Regional next weekend as the number 14 overall national seed. The Cajuns (49-4) will be joined in the Lafayette regional by #15 Stanford (38-17), #23 Baylor (33-20), and Mississippi Valley State (34-17).

Louisiana hosted MVSU in their third game of the season back on February 12th, defeating the Devilettes 21-0. They hope for another dominant performance when they play host to MVSU this Friday at 6:00 in their first game of the Lafayette Regional.

Stanford and Baylor will open up play in the Regional this Friday at 3:30.

The winner of the Lafayette Regional will face winner of the Tempe Regional featuring No. 3 overall seed Arizona State, LIU Brooklyn, Long Beach State, and Syracuse for the right to go to the 2012 Women's College World Series.

This marks the 14th straight Regional appearance for Louisiana, and 22nd in school history.
