Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun football team will play a familiar foe in 2018 and 2019.

New Mexico State announced yesterday the two schools would meet in Lafayette in 2018 and Las Cruces in 2019.

Louisiana confirmed the announcement today. The schools will meet at Cajun Field on either September 8th or October 6th in 2018, then play at NMST on November 16th, 2019.

New Mexico State is currently a member of the Sun Belt Conference, but will become an independent in 2018.

Louisiana hosts the Aggies next season in the final matchup between the teams as members of the Sun Belt Conference.

In addition to New Mexico State, the Cajuns 2018 non-conference schedule features matchups on the road against Alabama (September 29th) and Mississippi State (November 3rd) of the SEC.

In 2019, Louisiana plays at New Mexico State and Ohio (September 21st), hosts Tulsa (September 28th) and will be the designated home team for a season opener against Mississippi State (August 31st) in a game to be played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
