In basketball, size matters.

And, size is something that has been lacking on the Louisiana Women's Basketball team.

UL head coach Garry Broadhead and his staff took steps to remedy that by announcing three players, all of them over six feet tall, to their fall 2015 recruiting class,

6-3 post player Breionne Cooper (New Orleans/West Jefferson), 6-4 post player Alex Weeks (Opelousas/Beau Chene) and 6-1 forward Jordan Alexander (Dallas, TX/Skyline) have all inked national letters of intent to play for the Cajuns, beginning in 2015-16.

"We continue to recruit and sign Louisiana student-athletes with two of the three being in-state players. With the addition of 6-4, 6-3 and 6-1 players, we feel confident we are moving Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball in a positive direction. The most exciting thing about the 2015 class is not only are they great basketball players, but they are great students in the classroom with high GPAs and scoring very high on the ACT and SAT tests."--UL Women's Basketball Coach Garry Broadhead. The Cajuns open their 2014-15 season Friday night in Beaumont against Lamar University.
