All summer long, we’re going to list the best players in New Orleans Saints history to wear every number, 00-99.

Yesterday, we did #69

Today, #70:

The pick: Jammal Brown

When deciding who is the best New Orleans Saints player to ever wear #70, the choice is limited to defensive lineman Uhuru Hamiter, and offensive linemen Sam Holden, Craig Robinson, Dave Hubbard, Mark Meseroll, Jim Rourke, Bill Contz, Kevin Haverdink, Chris Port, Marcus Price, and Jammal Brown.

Our selection is going to be Brown, an offensive lineman, who played for the Saints for five years, from 2005-2009.

After playing his college football at Oklahoma, Brown was selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Brown was immediately inserted into the starting line-up, starting 13 games as the team's right tackle in his rookie year.

The 6-foot-6, 313-pound Brown made the switch to left tackle in 2006, where he started 15 games in each of the next three seasons, including 2006 and 2008, when he was named to the Pro Bowl.

After missing the 2009 season due to a knee injury, Brown was traded to the Washington Redskins prior to the start of the 2010 campaign.

In five seasons with the Saints, including the one where he missed the entire season with the knee injury, Brown appeared in 58 games, all as a starter.

In eight NFL seasons, Brown has appeared in 85 games, including 84 as a starter.
