The pick: Ben Grubbs

When deciding who is the best New Orleans Saints player to ever wear #66, the choice is limited to linebacker Bill Cody and offensive linemen Tom Wickert, Royce Smith, Rocky Rasley, David Knowles, Conrad Dobler, Louis Oubre, Chuck Commiskey, Mike Verstegen, Larry Williams, Victor Riley, Brian Young, and Ben Grubbs.

Our selection is going to be Grubbs, an offensive lineman, who played for the Saints for three years, from 2012-2014.

After playing his college football at Auburn, Grubbs was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft.

A native of Columbus, Georgia, Grubbs was a five-year starter for the Ravens, garnering All-Pro honors in 2011.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Grubbs signed with the Saints prior to the start of the 2012 season and was the starting left guard over his three seasons with the team, including 2013, when he was named to the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career.

Grubbs was traded by the Saints to the Kansas City Chiefs in March of 2015.

In eight NFL seasons, Grubbs has appeared in 122 games, including 118 as a starter.
