Today, #11:

The pick: Bivian Lee

When picking the best Saints player ever to wear #11, the choice is limited to quarterbacks Richard Todd, Mark Brunell, Billy Joe Tolliver, Jason Fife, Jim Ninowski, Ed Burns, Ronnie South, and John Fourcade, and cornerback Bivian Lee.

Needless to say, this isn't the best of numbers in Saints history.

You can make an argument for Fourcade, who threw for 2,312 yards and 14 touchdowns, with 597 yards and five touchdowns coming during the replacement games of 1987.

You can make an argument for Todd, who threw for 2,369 and 14 touchdowns over two seasons with the Saints, but only wore #11 during the 1984 season.

You can even make an argument for Billy Joe Tolliver, who actually threw for more yards, 3,343, and touchdowns, 15, than the previous two, over two seasons.

We're going to go with Lee, a who played for the franchise from 1971-1975.

After finishing his collegiate career at Prairie View A&M, Lee was taken by the Saints in the third round of the 1971 NFL Draft.

A starter in the 1972 and 1973 seasons, Lee led the team in interceptions in 1972, picking off four passes, and followed that up with three interceptions in 1973, which was tied for the club high.

In five years in the NFL, all with the Saints, Lee accumulated nine interceptions.

Sadly, Lee passed away back in 1984, at the age of only 36.
