The Houston Astros acquired catcher/outfielder Evan Gattis, along with right-handed pitcher James Hoyt, from the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, in exchange for right-handed pitcher Michael Foltynewicz, right-handed pitcher Andrew Thurman, and third baseman Rio Ruiz.

The 28-year old Gattis hit a .262, along with 22 home runs, 52 runs batted in, and a .493 slugging percentage, in only 369 at-bats in 2014.
