In his first workout with the New Orleans Hornets, number one overall draft pick Anthony Davis suffered a left ankle sprain. Davis likely will miss up to two weeks, putting into question his status with the 2012 USA Olympic team.

Anthony was scheduled to travel to Las Vegas on the 4th of July to workout for USA coach Mike Krzyzewski. Team USA's training camp officially begins Thursday, with most of the potential players arriving on Friday.

The good news for Hornets fans is that the injury is not considered to be serious, with several sources indicating Davis is day to day, and another source describing his ankle as "lightly sprained."

The Hornets released the following statement about Davis' injury:

"New Orleans Hornets #1 draft choice Anthony Davis sprained his ankle while working out on Saturday at the Hornets practice facility. His status to resume workouts is day to day. An evaluation of his availability to practice with Team USA will be made later in the week."
