The 1980s, the decade Americans witnessed the rise and deconstruction of the economy, the birth of home computers and Ronald Reagan was sworn in as the 40th President of the United States.

In the 80s "Live Aid" helped raise AIDS awareness globally, America saw advances in genetic technology and the population growth surpassed the 1970s. Our favorite television shows included "Growing Pains", "Cagney & Lacey", "Roseanne", "Magnum, P.I."and "Cheers". The two longest-running number-one songs of the decade were "Call Me" by Blondie and "Lady" by Kenny Rogers.
